About The Gardenelles
A year ago Katie Gentry was a songwriter in need of accompaniment and Peter McNicholl was perfecting his fingerstyle guitar for hours at a time. Both took inspiration in the wild Cumbrian countryside that surrounded them, but both were in need of something else, a catalyst, a spark. Luckily they found each other and the result was the creation of something quite special.
Blending Katie’s enchanting meditations on love and loss with Peter’s dazzlingly intricate melodies, they began to work on their own songs. Winter passed, summer arrived and they had enough material for their first EP.
As befits their blend of traditional and modern folk, they had already gathered a following on the internet, but are now ready to introduce their beautiful sound to a wider audience.
We are sure that the modern acoustic sounds of songs like 'Time for a change' or the haunting tale of lost love 'John Paul Jones' will linger in your mind as you wind your way home.
