GRRR is mischievously led, working across disciplines exploring the ideas of hybridity and convergence within art and design based practices.
GRRR could be described as anthropologists, with obsessive tendencies, they both share a love for cataloging and collecting. Not just anything, but almost everything, only instinct acting as a filter. Their pray is the ironic and perplexing, visual culture and mass media clashing head-on with personal references and experiences. There is a shared love for drawing as a form of discourse and this forms the standing stones for all the work.
GR focuses on publishing but not in any conventional sense - carefully curated portable art spaces, the product of an inquiring mind, scoping, watching, and then communicating it back, making contact. The space takes the form of Artists Books, posters, stickers or online. The works are often given away or shelved without permission in libraries, record shops, newsagents, national galleries pretty much anywhere visual junkies congregate. The work is graphic, often purely typographic with a strong influence of Dutch Modernism spiked with Amsterdam's flamboyant hedonism and their love for debate. The content is from all over, made up and heavily referential, music, comedy, Star Wars, literature, language and all the strange things we say beamed right back at us.
