Melanie is an artist and educator living in Bristol, planning and leading workshops for children and adults based on her own work which includes: Printmaking and Artist's Books, drawings, paintings and three-dimensional/mixed media objects.

She has exhibited widely, most recently a solo exhibition in Bristol (December 05). In February 2006 she participated in '60 Square Inches' at Purdue University, USA.

“ Clothing and dress forms allow me to refer specifically to female experience .... I have also used dress and clothing forms distorted or altered in unexpected ways to explore various states of mind or emotional situations.

As well as medical illustration and costume, my sources of inspiration include 1940's and 50's graphics and advertising, naïve art and old prints and drawings. ”
